Dash for Cash Settles into Scenic Lodge

Media Release - Thursday April 17

Dash For Cash has settled into his new digs at Scenic Lodge without a hitch and the move west has coincided with a rush of winners since April 1.

Dash for CashWilscot started the month with a brilliant debut at Wodonga and trainer Brian Cox will target him long-term for the Greys Plate at the Melbourne Cup carnival.

He was the 300th individual winner by the ever-consistent grey stallion from his days at Swettenham Stud.

Dash For Cash moved on from that milestone with 8 winners in as many days and he moved past $2 million in earnings this season when Dash For Home was narrowly beaten by Scenic Lodge bred gelding Rubin Sky at Ascot last Saturday.

Those 8 winners underlined the versatility of Dash For Cash – they ranged in distance from 1000m out to 2430m. And the Dash For Cash progeny will appreciate the firmer tracks in Perth with an overall higher percentage of winners on firm tracks.

"That was a key factor in bringing him to Western Australia," Scenic Lodge general manager Jeremy Smith said. "Along with Blackfriars, we now have the two most successful stallions standing in the State.

"Dash For Cash will also offer our clients a totally different bloodline to Blackfriars as he is free of Danehill line blood through Danzig and Northern Dancer."

Scenic Lodge has enjoyed a terrific relationship with Swettenham Stud over the years having previously purchased champion sires Scenic and Blackfriars from the Sangster family.

The latest figures for Sunspeed based stallions show Blackfriars ($3.09 million) leads the 2013-14 premiership from Dash For Cash ($2.01m), Oratorio ($1.72m) and Danehill Express ($1.28m).

Dash For Cash heads the winners and wins table (63 – 90) followed by Blackfriars (52 – 77), Oratorio (44 – 62) and Danehill Express (32 – 53).

Scenic Lodge will announce the 2014 service fees for Blackfriars, Dash For Cash and Universal Ruler at the end of the month.
