Following a huge weekend of racing there has been a big reshuffle of the 2012/2013 Australian General Sires List with a new leader who is the first sire to crack the $3million mark in prizemoney for this season.
He is reigning champion sire Fastnet Rock(pictured) , who has sired 26 winners in the past 30 days including six stakes-winners in Sea Siren, Super Cool, Callanish, Hvasstan, Jolie Bay and Mosheen.
The Coolmore heavyweight is really coming into his own as the spring progresses, unearthing new talent, while his proven stars such as Sea Siren continue to perform at a high level.
Australian bred stallions dominate our leading sires list filling nine of the Top 10 slots, the only exception being Dunaden's sire Nicobar.
Stratum and Snitzel, two Group I winning sons of Redoute's Choice that have duelled with each other all the way through their first three seasons at stud, are maintaining the rivalry again this year and are again within $10,000 of each other in progeny earnings.
