This
gorgeous new baby born at Kitchwin Hills received an important pedigree update
last Saturday when his big brother Pampelonne scored a brilliant first up win in
the Group II ATC The Shorts at Randwick.
The Tim Martin trained son of Rock of Gibraltar (IRE) outgunned a red hot field
to win the 1200 metre sprint and looks set for a fruitful campaign in Melbourne, where in the absence of Black Caviar, the sprinting division is wide open for the
up and comers to make their mark.
Foaled and raised at Kitchwin Hills, Pampelonne (pictured www.stevehart.com.au) was bred by Black Caviar's part
owner Neil Werrett and sold for $140,000 under the Kitchwin Hills banner at the
Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale.
A winner of five of his eight starts with prizemoney nearing $800,000,
Pampelonne is from the stakes-placed Rory's Jester mare Jestajewel, who
recently delivered this striking chestnut colt by Exceed and Excel.

Photographed when just three hours old, this little fellow has the world at his
feet.
Nominated for the Group I MVRC Manikato Stakes and VRC Patinack Farm Classic, Pampelonne
is one of the most popular horses on the new Stable Smart website with his
trainer Tim Martin doing a great job in sending out updates on the rising
sprint star.
