Easy Rocking gelding Bagman has been the star of the Sam Kavanagh team since he took over the training of the 6yo from his father, Mark.
Bagman added Wednesday's Listed The Advertiser Newspapers Balaklava Cup (1600m) to previous stakes wins in the Listed Matrice Stakes in March and the Listed Christmas Handicap on Boxing Day 2011.
He was away from the
racetrack for three months before finishing a first-up third in the Listed Penny Edition Stakes won by the top-class Southern Speed 10 days
ago.
With Brad Rawiller in the saddle, Bagman came from midfield to win by half a length from the unlucky Road Warrior (Street Cry) with Light Tan (Bianconi) a half-neck back in third.
Bagman is the first foal of the 4-time winning Dehere mare Bada Bing whose granddam Proud Tradition is a sister to San Domenico stakes winner and useful stallion Proud Knight and a half sister to AJC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Gretel, the dam of 4-time Group 1 winner Flotilla.
Salinger Stakes winner easy Rocking is currently covering his 12th book of mares at Queensland's Wattle Brae Stud where his fee is advertised at $8,800.
