The Registrar of Racehorses will be spending many a sleepless night when it comes time approve names for the first crop of foals by Vinery Stud's 2012 new boy Pluck.
And there should be plenty of them as Vinery has put up the book full sign on the sleek near black stallion who was made available at a reasonable $11,000.
The son of More Than Ready (USA) drew many favourable comparisons to his famous father at the recent Vinery open day.
Little
wonder his former trainer Todd Pletcher said of Pluck "this colt ,
physically is almost a clone of More Than Ready himself."
Pletcher should know as he also trained More Than Ready.
A memorable winner of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Turf, Pluck boasts a powerful female line that is royalty in South Africa. His first three dams are all multiple stakes-winners and Group 1 performers. His granddam Secret Pact is a sister to a phenomenal racehorse in two time South African Horse Of The Year, London News.
"Pluck was very well received at our open days by breeders, everybody can see the quality he has,'' Vinery's Adam White said.
"He had quite a long trip over here doing his quarantine in New Zealand, however he has settled in well and just looks fantastic at the moment".
"As a result Pluck is now fully booked for his first season".
"He has proven to be a very affordable to a wide range of breeders and the quality of mares he is going to receive is excellent, many stakes winners amongst them,'' he added.
