Widden Stud's dual Group I winning sire Star
Witness was the Champion Two and Three Year Old Colt of his generation, which
is why his first foals are the source of much excitement.
Star Witness has been supported by many of the best breeders in the business
covering 147 mares in his first season at stud. Among them is Victorian based
Sean Buckley of Ultra Thoroughbreds, whose royally bred mare Lady Larissa
produced this gorgeous filly (pictured) at Widden Stud earlier this week.
She is the third foal for Lady Larissa, who is a half-sister to Group I winner
Casino Prince and stakes-winners Lord of the Land, Metallurgical and Tagus.
"She is a stunning filly that weighed in at 66 kg when she was born and is all
quality," said Antony Thompson.
"Star Witness has let down into a magnificent looking stallion as visitors will
see at the upcoming open days and the feedback on his foals has been nothing
short of outstanding.
"Eric Koundouris's young Flying Spur mare in Who's There had a Star Witness
colt born last week and he tells us he is a lovely strong colt that he is
very happy with."
Astute breeder Ross Daisley, who bred and sold champion sprinter and sire
Choisir, has also had a great result with his young Choisir mare Choisie delivering
a terrific filly.
A brilliant winner of the Group I MRC Blue Diamond Stakes at two and VRCCoolmore Stud Stakes at three, Star Witness was the precocious brilliant
juvenile that was able to train on.

If his offspring possess a measure of his talent, Star Witness will be in for a
long and successful stud career, his service fee this spring set at $29,700.
