Breeders looking for an affordable BOBS eligible son of champion sire Danehill (USA) could do a lot worse than Macquarie Stud based Power of Destiny, who produced a winning double at Quirindi on Sunday.
A pair of Kris Lees trained three year-olds in Flooding Rain and Wheeo both broke their maiden when scoring over 1200 and 1450 metres respectively.
Flooding Rain scored by two and a half lengths at his second start, while Wheeo won by two lengths and was a short priced favourite.
Both were bred and retained to race by Macquarie Stud and have returned just shy of $20,000 in prizemoney between them.
The Nick Moraitis owned Power of Destiny has been a late season bloomer and with his oldest progeny about to turn four will finish the season with 14 winners to his credit.
Power of Destiny (pictured) has 46% winners to runners this season which compares favourably with the leading Australian second season sire Artie Schiller (USA), who has 43%.
