Queensland based sire Hidden Dragon had his first Hong Kong winner on Sunday, and in a little bit of deja vu, it had the same jockey, wearing the same colours as when his sire scored his first win in the colony.
The 3YO Dragimova, which did not debut until June, was having just his third start in Hong Kong when ridden by Douglas Whyte to an all the way win.
Dragimova is bred and raced by the Fraternity Syndicated, who also raced Hidden Dragon (pictured) after he had been purchased for $700,000 as a yearling by bloodstock agent Anton Koolman.
The stallion went on to win six races in Hong Kong, including the Gr2 Chinese Club Challenge and was placed in the Gr1 Stewards Cup.
Returning to Australia to stand at Lyndhurst Stud, Hidden Dragon's oldest progeny are now four year-olds with the stallion having had 92 winners to date including three stakeswinners.
"Fraternity have been breeding, racing and selling horses in Hong Kong and Australasia for 30 plus years," said Koolman.
"They fully understand the industry and although Hidden Dragon has received books well in excess of the industry average, Fraternity are more than happy to offer nominations to Hidden Dragon for quality winning mares at a negotiable fee for the new season."
