New Stakes-Winner for Danzero
Breednet - Media Release - Friday, 22 June 2012

Progressive gelding See the World could head to the Ramornie Handicap at Grafton after an impressive win in today's Listed Takeover Target Stakes (1200m) at Gosford.

Allowed to find his feet during the early and middle stages, See the World was able to reel in the leaders and score a breakthrough stakes success.

The win was the second in three runs for See the World - who between those wins came from last in a field of 13 for a close up fourth in the recent listed June Stakes.

Trainer Joseph Pride elected to send See the World (pictured) to Gosford, where he scored his first ever win, after the race attracted ten final acceptors (later reduced to nine).

"It's a big effort from this horse," Pride told Sky Racing World. "He had to come from off the pace."

"He's been in really good form this preparation - it's no surprise to see him get the money today."

"I thought the extra 100 metres was going to suit him more than most of his rivals and the wet track isn't a problem."

"I was keen to come here to Gosford when I saw a small field and a nice draw for the horse."

"Had there been a big field it might have been a bit too big of a task but with a smaller field he doesn't have as much ground to make up obviously."

"It is a chance," Pride said of the Ramornie Handicap when asked whether the Grafton feature was on his agenda. "He's not the best of travellers."

"He's in really good form and if I could we'd get a soft track up there I'd definitely look at it."

"We'll just have to weight everything up - but he's a good horse on the wet tracks."

Winning rider Christian Reith was delighted with the acceleration shown by the five-year-old when called upon in the straight.

"He's really come back in great form this horse. Joe's done a terrific job with him."

"Every start with him this time, even in his trials, he's matured and he's a better horse."

"He's a good horse on his day and he's doing a lot more right this preparation and we'll win more races with him."

Raced by Peter Horwitz and the Perry family's Greenwich Stud Syndicate, See the World has now earned over $260,000 courtesy of his six wins and six minor placings.

The Danzero gelding was purchased for $120,000 at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale when presented by his breeder, the Sangster family's Swettenham Stud.

One of four winners for the two-year-old winning and city performed Spinning World mare Global Dance, See the World is a half brother to the group performed, four time winner Boys on Tour.

Global Dance is from the Group One winning Kaapstad mare Love Dance and is therefore from the same family as Hula Chief, Sir Midas, Tip the Wink and I've Got Rhythm.

He is the 39th stakes-winner for veteran sire Danzero(pictured) , who stood for many years at Arrowfield Stud and is now at Rosemont Stud in Victoria at a fee of $11,000.
