He was the highest priced yearling from the first crop of his sire and he is also his first winner in Hong Kong after saluting at Sha Tin on Sunday.
Two year-old Court Command gelding Bullish Friend opened his account with a strong three-quarter length win over 1200 metres, leading throughout from barrier one.
The Tony Cruz trained youngster was sent out favourite on the strength of his good debut third at the same track last month when he had no luck and pulled up lame.
Bullish Friend was a $170,000 purchase for the Hong Kong Jockey Club from the Evergreen Stud Farm draft at the 2011 Magic Millions Yearling Sale making him the most expensive yearling by Wattle Brae Stud based Court Command.
Bullish Friend was entitled to make big money as he is a half-brother to two stakes-winners in Red Arrow and Able Choice (who won his stakes in HK) as well as Momentum, who finished second in the Hong Kong Derby.
He is the tenth winner from 11 foals to race from former brilliant racemare Lady Jakeo, who won five races including the Group I VATC Blue Diamond Stakes and MVRC Australia Stakes.
Bullish Friend is the seventh first crop winner for Court Command (pictured), who won the Golden Rose, before it was elevated to Group I status.
The Group II winning son of Commands stands at a fee of $13,750.
