Spirit of Boom Fee Announced

A Group I winning son of Sequalo, Spirit of Boom, will stand his first season at Eureka Stud in Queensland at a fee of $11,000 (inc gst).

Spirit of BoomSpirit of Boom, Gr 1 winner of the MVRC William Reid Stakes (1200m), and placed in four Gr 1 races is to be syndicated as a stallion to stand at Eureka.

An ideal sire for Queensland, Spirit of Boom possessed 2yo speed, then stamina and acceleration to win out to 1400m. Being a son of one of the state's most successful sires in Sequalo, he is a half-brother to Gr 1 winner Temple of Boom, while his dam Temple Spirit bred from a Danehill – Semipalatinsk cross, won 8 races from 1000m – 1200m and was stakes placed.

Currently Spirit of Boom in 48 starts has earned over $1.8 million, winning 8 races including the Gr 2 MRC Caulfield Sprint H (1100m), the Listed GCTC Goldmarket H (1300m), the Magic Millions Cup (1400m) and has been placed in no less than 14 Group races (inc 4 Gr 1 races) between Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

An outstanding two-year-old, he won 3 races inc the Listed GCTC Ken Russell Memorial Classic (1200m), the Gold Coast Magic Millions 2YO Prelude (900m), and scored stakes seconds in the Gr 2 BRC Victory S and Listed Phelan Ready S.

Spirit of Boom will have his last start in the BRC Winter Carnival's Stradbroke Hcp. A real Queenslander, he was Eureka-bred, Eureka-raced and returns to Eureka to stand. 

"He is a boost for QLD, the industry and breeders. He has the right qualities 2yo speed, tenacity, and toughness to train on and remain sound. An honest horse, by the right sire, we are happy to keep him in QLD and return him home to continue our family's 60 years breeding tradition of standing stallions," said Scott McAlpine.

Associate sire Red Dazzler, Gr 1 winning son of Red Ransom with earnings of over $4.9 million (over $1 million this season alone) and 86 individual winners amassing 216 wins stands at a fee of $6,600.
