Manor Stud, the Northern Hemisphere home of Newgate Farms' Group I winning sire
Foxwedge, will be sending almost a quarter of its broodmare band to the young
stallion this season in response to his stunning first foals.
Stud director Ed Harper revealed the mating plans on Tuesday reported Racing
Post, saying that the team were pleased with the stallion's first Northern Hemisphere
foals.
"We have been so impressed by Foxwedge's first foals that we've decided to
increase the number of our own mares we're sending him from eight to 12, which
is almost a quarter of our broodmare band," said Harper.
"They all look so well-built it's hard not to be impressed. I've also been
to a number of surrounding studs with Foxwedge foals and seen the same results.
They certainly have the look of their father."
Golden Secret, a half-sister by Sakhee's Secret to the Whitsbury-bred Group I

Foxwedge stands at a fee of 7,500 pounds in the UK and for $33,000 her in
Australia covering 328 mares in his first two seasons.
