Sire Profitability at Inglis Easter

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday April 15
We all know Street Cry (IRE) was the leading sire on average at the 2014 Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale, but which sires were the most profitable?.

Snitzel

Not a hard one to guess here with Snitzel proving a big winner for his supporters, his stock more than matching strides with the $100,000 plus service fee sires off a fee of $27,500.

Had a $1.5 million yearling with Snitzerland's little brother and has clearly moved to another level, both in terms of race track results and sale ring acceptance.

Has covered huge books of 249 and 226 mares in his last two seasons at fees of $33,000 and $49,500, so those lucky breeders with weanlings or mares in foal to him can also look forward to a good pay day down the track.

Coolmore's Choisir proved himself rock solid if you send him an elite mare, not that he gets many being a mid-range stallion on a large roster, but he can get the job done and buyers are happy to pay a good price for them.

The following is a list of sires that returned more than four times service fee with three or more sold.
