Media Release - Wednesday June 6
Chatswood Stud is proud to announce So You Think's Group 1 Randwick Guineas Winner Inference will retire immediately to the Seymour based farm where he will stand at a fee of $8,800 inc GST.

InferenceShares are still available for purchase in the the 4YO who is blessed with the devilish good looks of his 10 x Group 1 Winning Sire who is one of the most talked about young stallions in Australia. In the past 6 weeks, So You Think has sired 6 Group Winners as Inference becomes his first son to stand at Stud.

Inference stands at 16.11/4 HH and was trained by Team Hawkes who were glowing in their praise of the first season sire, "An outstanding individual. A Guineas Winner by a Champion racehorse. A Serious stallion prospect" - John Hawkes.

Inference sprinted home from last to win the 2017 edition of the $1 Million Randwick Guineas, beating home a quality field includingComin' Through, Man From Uncle, Invincible Gem and 4 other Stakes Winners. Other Winners of the race include Dissident, Dundeel, Hallowed Crown, Octagonal and Todman.

Watch him win the Guineas

Inference wins the Randwick GuineasInference is the first foal out of classy Redoute's Choice sprinter Pontiana who was placed in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes as well as three other stakes races.

Out of a Redoute's Choice mare just like Zoustar, Sacred Falls, Ace High, D'Argento etc. this provided Inference with enough speed to place 2nd on debut at Sandown behind Highland Beat before winning as a 2YO at his next outing. Inference went on to become one of the best 3YO's of his generation where his Group 1 victory was joined by two other Group 1 placings.

The quality of Inference's pedigree was noted by the purchase of his half brother (by Pierro) for $1,050,000 at the 2018 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. View Inference's pedigree here.

Greg Willis is thrilled to be standing the handsome Group 1 Winner. "The Chatswood team recently inspected Inference with Inglis and his presence was undeniable from the moment he stepped out of his barn. He has a lovely nature and we knew we had to secure him".

"Chatswood has launched the stud careers of Flying Spur, Danzero, Invincible Spirit and more recently Reward For Effort. Inference will also be provided with the same opportunity. We are fortunate to have formed the base of a solid syndicate with renowned breeder Greg Peters to ensure he is well supported and has the chance to show what he can do as a sire.

"Original owners including Lyndsay Maxsted and Greg Ingham have retained a number of breeding rights and there are still limited shares available in the horse. I can't imagine the shares will last long after the public visit the property to inspect him. I'm confident breeders will love him as much I do".

Inference will be joined by fellow Group 1 Winner Reward For Effort at Chatswood in 2018. After covering the most mares in Victoria last year, his fee will remain unchanged at $16,500 inc GST.
