Kingston Town Stakes analysis

Clinton Payne - Friday September 15

The Racenet Speedmaps and form analysts have combined to give punters a leg-up in the $150,000 Group III Kingston Town Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Racenet's speedmap for the 2017 Kingston Town Stakes.

Racenet's Speedmaps spokesman Greg Polson said he's a bit unsure of what to expect in the early stages.

"You can put all the runners into one of two buckets here – those capable of being on speed and backmarkers," Polson said.

"There are a couple of free-going runners here with Chocante and Classic Uniform and a few other on-pacers but I'd be surprised if they wanted to overdo it.

"The favourite Antonio Giuseppe has drawn out but I expect him to secure a decent run around midfield.

"I wouldn't expect them to go too hard here."

Corporate bookie Ladbrokes are offering $3.40 for the favourite Antonio Giuseppe, $3.80 Chocante, $4 Life Less Ordinary, $12 Megablast, $14 Harper's Choice, $16 Libran and Classic Uniform with the other runners at $21 or better.

"The market has it down to three chances and we don't disagree but there's not much value in the race," Racenet form analyst Cameron Happ said.

"In a 100 percent market we've priced Antonio Giuseppe at $4.30. He's a $3.40 chance but with the Ladbrokes Odds Boost we can $3.90 which is closer to the mark.

"He's the way we'd prefer to attack the race.

"The best value in the race is our fourth pick Allergic. We've got him at $11 and there's $21 available.

"He's a horse that's much better suited on Saturday, up to 2000m and back to handicap conditions.

"He's a winner third-up previously and you could have something each-way on him if Antonio Giuseppe is too short for you

"Using the Ladbrokes Odds Boost you can lock in $34 for Allergic and that's an attractive price."
