Emirates Park shuttle sire Dream Ahead (USA) was represented by the third individual stakes winner of his flourishing stud career when Basileus claimed a Listed event at Capannelle in Italy overnight.
A Group-placed juvenile during his first season in training, Basileus became his sire's first black-type winning 3-year-old when finishing a length-and-a-quarter clear of his nearest rival in a mile event contested by nine runners.
The Rome success of Basileus has now seen Dream Ahead represented by stakes winners in Ireland, England, France and Italy, as well as by a Group placegetter in Australia.
Moreover, the five-time Group 1 winning sprinter has supplied winners in nine different countries in little over 12 months of representation.
Dream Ahead's first 2-year-old runners in Australia this season already include four individual winners. The Emirates Park owned stallion presently sits in joint-second position on the leading first season sire standings (by winners) with 50-60% fewer runners than most of his main contemporaries.
