The Adam Trinder-trained Jerilderie Letter has been just about unstoppable in Tasmania this season and he claimed his third stakes race in Friday's $100,000 Listed Tasmanian Derby (2200m).
The 3yo gelding won the Listed Tasmanian Guineas (1600m) in Hobart on January 8 and the Listed Hobart Guineas (2100m) just over two weeks later.
The son of Bushranger (Ire) advances his overall record to 6 wins and 1 third from 7 starts for earnings of $223,175.

Sent off the $2 favourite under Anthony Darmanin, Jerilderie Letter showed true grit to hold the challenge of the Darren Weir-trained Howard Be Thy Name (Redoute's Choice) by a head with the Patrick Payne-trained Al Shameel (Zabeel) five and a quarter length back in third.
"I don't think he will be a genuine stayer and he might be more of a miler next season," Trinder said.

The 3yo gelding has proven to be an inspired choice by his trainer who secured the son of Bushranger for $11,000 at the 2014 Magic Millions Tasmanian Yearling sale.
Winner of the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes and Group 1 Prix Morny, Bushranger (Ire) (pictured) shuttled to Eliza Park from Ireland's Tally Ho Stud for five seasons but did not return after covering 20 mares in 2014.
