One to Watch – Pakenham

Tara Madgwick - Sunday November 29
This half-brother to a Group I winner scored a debut win at Pakenham on Sunday.

Three year-old Purrealist gelding Tigger opened his account at the first time of asking for the Enver Jusufovic stable.

Tigger as a yearlingDrawn the outside in a field of 15, Tigger proved too good in drawing clear to win the 1200 metre maiden by the best part of a length in a good tough performance on debut.

A $40,000 Inglis Premier purchase for his trainer from the Yallambee Stud draft, Tigger is a half-brother to Group I Tatts Tiara winner Pear Tart and is the fourth winner form blue-blooded import Tangerine Dream (Fr).

A daughter of champion sire Sadler's Wells, Tangerine Dream is a sister to stakes-winner Sensible from the family of current European Group I winner Erupt that traces back to celebrated matriarch Fanfreluche.

Tangerine Dream was bought for $110,000 by Paul Willetts at the 2013 Inglis Broodmare Sale for Three Bridges Thoroughbreds.

She has since produced a Snitzel colt for them that was sold earlier this year as a weanling for $150,000 and had a colt foal this spring to their exciting new young sire Unencumbered.

Tigger looks a good prospect for his sire Purrealist, who has left four stakes-winners headed by Group I winner Hawkspur.
