Purchased
for $400,000 at the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale from the Ascot Farm draft was
promising Star Witness three year-old Star Justice, who opened his account at the
Sunshine Coast in Sunday.
Prepared by Gillian Heinrich, Star Justice improved sharply on his unplaced
debut last month to lead throughout and win the 1200 metre maiden by a long head.
Star Justice was a super successful pinhook for Ascot Farm as he was bought
originally for $80,000 at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale from the
Shadwell Farm draft.
He is the first winner from Lonhro mare Crystal Whip, a daughter of stakes-winner
Crystal Wit from the family of Golden Slipper winner Crystal Lily.
Star Justice is the 20th Australian winner this season for Champion
Two and Three Year Old Star Witness, who leads the Australian Second Season
Sires List by winners.
Based at Widden Stud, Star Witness stands at a fee of $22,000.
