Fox Cubs Target Golden Slipper

Newgate Farm's foundation sire Foxwedge is about to enter a new and exciting phase of his stud career with his first runners in the new season and an impressive 57 rising two year-olds nominated for the 2016 Golden Slipper.

FoxwedgeA brilliant Group I winning son of Fastnet Rock, Foxwedge had some outstanding results at the sales this year and his top sellers – filly from The Party Stand ($560,000), filly from De Lago Mist ($440,000), colt from Rose of Cimmaron ($425,000) and colt from Glowamp ($420,000) are all entered for the Slipper.

Foxwedge entries for the Slipper appear for leading trainers such as Chris Waller, Peter and Paul Snowden, Freedman Racing, Hawkes Racing, David Hayes and Tom Dabernig, Kris Lees, Tony McEvoy, Paul Perry, Mick Price, Gerald Ryan, Bjorn Baker, David Pfieffer, Gary Portelli, Phillip Stokes and Gai Waterhouse, who has nominated six 'fox cubs' for the world's richest juvenile race.

With spring two year-old racing just around the corner many of the 'fox cubs' are now being named, so keep an eye out for the following.
