Half the Card!

Media Release - Thursday May 28
With golden opportunities abounding for Queensland breeders in the upcoming season as a result of increased prizemoney and a booming new QTIS system, the leading farm in the state, Glenlogan Park, flexed their muscles yesterday at Ipswich on Wednesday by providing four of the eight winners.

Jet SpurKicking the day off was Qld's leading sire, Jet Spur, with the Helen Page trained Tricky Jet flying the gates and giving nothing else a chance as he led from pillar-to-post.

The promising 3YO was resuming from a 7 month spell and looks to have a promising campaign in front of him.

Second cab off the rank was the Stuart Kendrick prepared debutant filly The Bees Knees.

Yet another youngster by the flying Jet Spur, The Bees Knees is a 2YO that Kendrick has always held a very high opinion of.

"She has a truckload of ability but is still just a little immature," Stuart said after the outstanding win. "She is still a little light-framed but will fill out into a beautiful filly in time.

"The original plan was to tip her out after this race however she ate up well overnight and we will now sit down and have a think about whether we give her one more go this time in.

"With some nice races and the filly thriving, it is something we will need to consider long and hard as we really think highly of her."

Bradbury's LuckBradbury's Luck chimed in to add the 3rd winner of the day for the Glenlogan team of sires when Rising Luck showed great fight and tenacity to run out a strong 2200m for trainer Trevor Thomas.

The victory in the $50,000 event on Wednesday has almost assured the Bradbury's Luck youngster of a start in the upcoming G1 Derby.

Last time out he hit the line hard in the G3 Sunshine Coast Guineas behind Winx indicating he was sure to relish the extra distances.

The final leg of the quartet for Glenlogan came when the progressive Show A Heart gelding Heart Of A Warrior continued his impressive form with a very strong victory over the 1700m.

The Tony Gollan trained lightly raced 4YO has now won 3 of his only 4 lifetime starts and looks to be a horse with a very big future.

With the new Breeder's Bonus system beginning in the upcoming season for Qld sires, results like this only further emphasise the value of proven, quality stallions and the team in the Glenlogan breeding barn do it week after week.
