What Price for a Mare in Foal to Frankel?

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday May 27
That question will be answered at the Gold Coast on Thursday when two mares are offered in foal to champion racehorse Frankel to Southern Hemisphere time at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.

An unbeaten superstar son of Galileo, Frankel already has five foals born here in Australia last year and there are another five mares due to foal to him this spring including the two below that will be offered for sale.

Lot 740 Lovetorn – Glastonbury Farm.

Rising 10 year-old Australian bred stakes-winner in South Africa, Lovetorn is a half-sister by Giant's Causeway to Australian Group III winner Lovemelikearock and has had one previous foal.

Lot 882 Rostova – Newgate Farm

Rising nine year-old Australian Group I winner of the SAJC Robert Sangster Stakes by Testa Rossa from a prolific Black Type family. Has had three previous foals, two named, but none to race.

Frankel's service fee is 125,000 pounds and his first yearlings will be offered at Northern Hemisphere sales this year.
