Aussie Group Three Winner in South Africa

Australian bred Dubawi (IRE) mare Amber Orchid posted her first Black Type success when taking out the Group III Jacaranda Handicap at Turffontein on Saturday adding to an amazing weekend of success for her sire.

DubawiThe Sean Tarry trained Amber Orchid took the 1800 metre event by three quartyers of a length and has now won five of 23 starts.

By Dubawi (IRE) from Amber Shore, Amber Orchid was bred by Darley and offered at the 2010 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale where she was snapped up by James Bester Bloodstock for $20,000.

Amber Orchid is the best of five winners from Hennessy (USA) mare Amber Shore, a half-sister to stakes-winner Fabulous Friscoe from the family of Group I winner Al Shemali.

Amber Orchid was the last foal Amber Shore had in Australia before being exported to The Philippines.

Darley sent a very strong draft of weanlings to that Magic Millions National Sale with other smart types to come out of the draft including champion two year-old elect Pierro.
