Juvenile Stakes Double for More Than Ready

Media Release - Sunday March 1

MORE Than Ready (USA) sired two new 2YO stakeswinners within a few hours on Saturday including a genuine contender for what would be the global stallion's third Golden Slipper winner.

Always AllisonThe Vinery based stallion's 'Super Saturday' kicked off with an emphatic win to the Chris Waller trained filly Always Allison in the Group 2 ATC Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm.

Always Allison (pictured Lisa Grimm) signalled her ability with a comprehensive 3.5-lens debut win at the same track on February 4.

Such was the strength of her win, the filly is rated a $15 chance to win the Golden Slipper despite being subject to a $150,000 late entry fee given she was not among the original nominations.

Waller said he'll take the time to discuss with connections the possibility of pursuing a Slipper start comeMarch 21.

"We'll put some sensible thought into over the next few days, it's a good problem to have, I wouldn't be stressing about it today,'' Waller said.

Always Allison was partnered (again) by South African born jockey Glyn Scofield who was full of praise for the filly after her Sweet Embrace triumph.

"She felt like she wasn't really sure how to get thee and 'go' but once she balanced up and caught sight of the bunny, she showed a bit more desire and put her head down - it was soft in the end,'' he said.

"She's so laid back and so casual, that's her greatest asset. You couldn't buy the atttide she's got and she's got one to dream off and I think it will take her a long way.''

Meanwhile in Adelaide, Shadwell Estates was celebrating the debut stakes win of Haybay in the Listed SAJC Cinderella Stakes (1050m).

Trained by David Hayes and Tom Dabernig, Haybay started odds-on in the feature on the score of previous narrow second placings in the Blue Diamond Preview and Chairman's Stakes.

Shadwell's famous royal blue and white epaulettes are work by one of More Than Ready's international band of greats namely South Africa's recent Champion 2YO Banaadeer.
