When the Horses do the Talking

Tara Madgwick - Friday December 19
When your track record of successful horses that you have either bred, sold, consigned or raised includes the likes of Fawkner, Happy Trails, Southern Speed, Rebel Raider, Captain Sonador, Divine Madonna, Devil Moon and company, not to mention a Magic Millions winner in Augusta Proud – there is not much left to say other than to show you the next batch of budding stars from Mill Park.

Hugely successful South Australian nursery Mill Park has the track record other farms dream of achieving and their consistent results at the very highest level make their draft a must see at any sale.

Their draft of nine will arrive at the Gold Coast after Christmas and will be available for inspection from January 2, but for those that can't wait, take a look at these images below.

Lot 13 Colt Northern Meteor x Victory Cry, by General Nediym

From the last crop of yearlings by ill-fated Northern Meteor and is the second foal of a sister to brilliantly fast stakes-winner Victory Chant from the family of Group I winner Serious Speed and Group II winner Majestic Music, both star gallopers raised at Mill Park for renowned breeder Harry Perks.

Lot 143 Filly Sepoy x Celebrity Girl, by Starcraft

From the first crop of Golden Slipper winner and Champion 2YO Sepoy and is the first foal of stakes-winner Celebrity Girl, who was a stunning yearling that made $500,000 at Inglis Easter in 2010. From a very speedy Black Type family, one look at this filly tells you she is true to type!

Lot 185 Colt Redoute's Choice x Dances x on Waves, by Anabaa (USA)

Second foal of Group II AJC Villiers Stakes winner Dances on Waves, a half-sister to the dam of this year's Group I VRC Victoria Derby winner Preferment. Has a similar double cross of Danzig and Bletchingly as does Group I winning colt Brazen Beau.

Lot 219 Filly Snitzel x Elusive Wonder, by Elusive Quality (USA)

Third foal of a stakes-placed half-sister to juvenile stakes-winner Tantra and looks an obvious type to come to hand quickly as do so many of the Snitzel offspring.

Lot 534 Colt More Than Ready (USA) x Pushing Daisies, by Kenny's Best Pal

Half-brother by a champion sire to Group I AJC Epsom Handicap winner Captain Sonador from a half-sister to Group II winner Umaline.

Lot 570 Colt Manhattan Rain x Rock on Madonna, by Rock of Gibraltar (IRE)

Third foal of an unraced half-sister to four-time Group I winner Divine Madonna and Group III winner Blessum as well as the dam of Group III winner Angel of Mercy.

Lot 651 Filly Dream Ahead (USA) x Subsequential, by Second Empire (IRE)

Half-sister to stakes-winner Moving Money from Group II placed Subsequential and from the first crop of Australian foals by Champion 2YO and Champion European Sprinter Dream Ahead.

Lot 679 Filly Dream Ahead (USA) x Tobouggie Woogie, by Tobougg (IRE)

Second foal of a good metro winning half-sister to Group II winner Majestic Music from the family of Group I winner Serious Speed and stakes-winner Victory Chant. From the same family as Lot 13 and what a good family it is!

Lot 909 Colt Duporth x Typify (NZ), by Volksraad (GB)

Strongly built colt with a big pedigree update as his dam is a sister to stakes-winner Ponte Piccolo, the dam of outstanding performer Able Friend, an explosive winner of the 2014 HK International Mile.
