A first-crop filly by Bullet Train (GB) was offered during the first session of the 2014 Tattersalls December Foals Sale , successfully selling for 21,000 guineas — the equivalent of $40,690.
Conceived during the shuttle stallion's first northern hemisphere stud season standing at Wintergreen Stallion Station in Kentucky, the filly was foaled in Ireland in February of this year. Catalogued as Lot 528, the youngster is believed to be the first member of the breed offered at public auction.
The family of the Bullet Train filly illustrates the quality of mares visiting a stallion serving Australian breeding seasons at Bowness Stud, Young.
Third-dam on the catalogue page is the celebrated matriarch Korveya, a Group 3 winner of 3 races in France. Korveya's immediate offspring included the celebrated Group 1 winners Hector Protector, Bosra Sham and Shanghai, as well as the dams of Group 1 winners Ciro and Internallyflawless.
Bullet Train is in the process of serving his second Australian book of mares at Bowness Stud after covering a book of 160-plus mares during his first visit in 2013.
His first two seasons in North America have also seen him supported with a further 140 mares.
