Flying Finish to NZB Ready to Run Breeze Ups

New Zealand Bloodstock's Ready to Run Sale Breeze Ups concluded today with another successful day at Te Rapa Racecourse that saw 174 horses galloping down the straight at Te Rapa Racecourse.

Lot 322 on the insideToday saw near identical conditions to yesterday with the two-year-olds working on a Dead 5 track. Every horse catalogued in the Ready to Run Sale was given the opportunity to Breeze Up with the final 200m of their work timed and filmed.Times were once again even throughout the day with the yesterday's fastest time of 10.33 seconds, recorded by Lot 299, bettered early today.

 

The fastest time of the day was in Heat 101 – the fourth pair of the day. Running a quick 10.12 seconds was Lot 322, a colt by Exceed and Excel from Beaston Stables. He worked with Lot 337, a colt by Thewayyouare from the same vendor, who ran a time of 10.16 seconds.

Also running 10.16 was a colt by first season sire Showcasing, catalogued atLot 310 from Cypress Point Stables. The colt worked with stablemate Lot 327, a colt by another first season sire in Per Incanto, who ran a time of 10.17 seconds.

Two colts by champion Australian sire Fastnet Rock worked impressively in tandem, both from Lyndhurst Farm. Lot 123 slightly shaded Lot 63 at the post running the 200m 10.45 seconds and 10.47 seconds respectively, with both horses working well under their own steam.

Also working well without pressure was Lot 26 and Lot 260 from Courtza Park. An O'Reilly colt, Lot 26 recorded a time of 10.83 seconds while Lot 260, a colt by Savabeel, clocked a time of 10.86 seconds.

At the completion of the two-day Breeze Ups, New Zealand Bloodstock's Sales Manager Danny Rolston was pleased with proceedings.

"We had another smooth day in perfect conditions," commented Rolston. "There were plenty more quality horses on show for all attendees. These past two days are a testament to the high standard and preparation put into the horses by the vendors."

Breeze Up clips will be available for viewing on the New Zealand Bloodstock website (www.nzb.co.nz) and on the freeiPad applicationfrom 24 October. DVD copies can be requested fromreception@nzb.co.nzand will be available from 28 October.
